NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL PILOT
What type of impact will this training program have on your personal, work and family life?
It will add to my understanding of principles for success in life.
The training is already having an impact on my life specific goal setting, focused strategies for success, self affirmations, and awareness of a lot of my strengths on others!
I will try to set more personal goals and to read more am already listening to CDs (motivational) as a result of attending.
Positive impact will use motivational quotes to remind me of focusing on skills and achieving goals.
Have already spoken about some aspects with my family very positive. Work; will depend on NCCs decisions to take forward.
How could this workshop benefit teachers?
Very beneficial for professional development even if they did not apply it.
Personally by giving them an opportunity to think differently & work for their own success.
Helping them to see how raising self-esteem in young people is everyones job and how helping young people to set goals and review progress will help them to achieve.
Relationships with colleagues, goal setting, task orientation.
Yes, it could though I believe that the training would have to understand the culture of teachers & their challenges and skills.
How could this workshop benefit parents?
By giving an understanding of behaviour and how to develop it.
Self-esteem, motivation. Realising the positive affect they can have on the success of their children and their negative messages they may be giving unintentionally.
I can see some parents attending/participating enthusiastically but the hard to reach parents are the ones who would benefit but many would find it challenging.
It would give them an opportunity to think differently and work for their own success. Also, to offer them support and increase self-esteem, enabling them to increase emotional literacy.
Very useful could be delivered alongside other courses currently running.
How could the continuous use of this program benefit students and their future?
I would see great benefits as part of PSHE / C curriculum.
Increase self-confidence, set goals and develop skills.
By instilling a way of thinking and self-belief from their early years in school and teaching them how to improve.
I believe this program would be extremely useful in giving individuals the strategies they need for success and the skills to achieve their goals.
By supporting and encouraging them to be the very best they can be.

Some of the verbal comments;
The content is extremely important for all to learn.
Teachers must go through the workshop for the resource to be used effectively.
How do we get parents to attend?
The difference of this workshop from others is the engaging activities and games and, most importantly, the reflection on real life of each activity.
It would be great if the NCC would fund a trial in a community.
YJB YOT and ISSP TEAMS MANAGEMENT
"Strategies for Success and i can modules are excellent resources to motivate and encourage both staff and young people to achieve.
Since receiving the training I have been able to observe a positive change in the team.
This increased level of motivation and positivism coupled with the i can materials has increased our effectiveness in engaging young people and motivating them to succeed with their Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Program.
