City and Guilds Award and Certificate in Employability and Personal Development (7546)
I Can in the North East provides training and learning that extends far beyond conventional classroom training programmes to take people on a journey to improve their education and career prospects.
This module is a significant step towards helping people bring their thoughts and emotions into clearer focus, reflect on their past and their own feedback and to develop a personal action plan to move toward positive results in the future.
This module will give learners the desire to do what it takes to be successful in all areas of their life and instil a sense of purpose, hope and expectation by providing training and coaching in areas such as Attitude, Motivation, Goal Setting and Achieving and Inter-personal Relationships. It aims to encourage positive thinking, good habits, positive attitude and positive behaviour.
We teach the timeless and universal principles and qualities of success as a strong foundation upon which individual learners and partner organisations working with them can build further skills to help them achieve their goals and dreams. We aim to prove to our learners that they have everything they need to be successful in all areas of their life and to show them how to achieve this. Our goal is that in the short to medium term they will become more receptive to working with our partner organisations in Education, Employment or Training.
In the longer term, they will not only achieve their ultimate goals, but will also experience the profound fulfilment that they desire and deserve.

The prestigious venues and executive suites we use capture the I Can ethos of demonstrating to learners that they are valued and ensure that they feel excited and comfortable.
Use of such venues also allows the training programme to draw on real-life and real-time examples of success, to which the learners can relate.
We use appropriate venues across the North East such as: Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club.
A Flexible Approach
We have a flexible approach to working with the learners and great care is taken to ensure that the content and range of activities support qualification-based learning and the national curriculum, whilst focusing on reintegration into mainstream Education, Employment or Training. We work with groups of between six to eight young people; this manageable group size allows the trainers to give each learner sufficient time and attention, while at the same time ensuring that the young people can develop crucial team-working skills.
The programmes aim to enhance the personal and social development and employability of the learners, to build their character, to develop their learning capacity, to encourage a voluntary positive change in behaviour, to give them a sense of achievement and prepare them for the world of work. It does this by teaching them a range of personal and inter-personal skills to help change their attitudes and behaviour for the better.
